inspirewithhope %entrepreneurs I'm the unlikely entrepreneur: I used to be quite shy and still find it really difficult to call people and ask for work/money etc. My main strategy is offering stuff to people, e.g. helping with web design queries. Any other useful tips for wallflowers in enterprise? :) 2009-05-08 19:07:49 UTC

jane @inspirewithhope hook up with someone who works well with you & likes being the front person; doing the talking & networking part. the key is finding someone who doesn't need to eclipse you, but who truly believes in your skills as well as their own & enjoys telling others about them. :) 2009-05-08 19:18:08 UTC

inspirewithhope @jane Thanks Jane, I've been wanting to get to know more web designers, freelancers, entrepreneurs... in doing that, I'm bound to meet people I click with and whose skills complement mine. Great idea, cheers! 2009-05-09 11:45:04 UTC

crphoto @inspirewithhope I'm a bit of a wallflower myself. In a networking situation, instead of selling yourself, be a great listener and really try to understand others' businesses. Done regularly, the time will come where you can identify their problems and suggest a solution (sell your services). 2009-05-09 07:45:32 UTC

inspirewithhope @crphoto Thanks Chris, that's really useful. It does seem like there are a fair few people ready to talk about their businesses, so I should find a lot of listening opportunites! Much appreciated. 2009-05-09 11:47:01 UTC
